What is required for doctorate holders who lead the diverse society?

20140303kickoffEn_tn_2It is certain that innovation is a key to Japan’s sustainable development. Meanwhile, it is said “Women participating actively in society is forming the central core of Growth Policy” in aging society with falling birth rate. In such circumstances, Ochanomizu University takes a role of hub for cooperation between industry, academia and government, and promotes the program aiming at fostering woman innovators in the fields of science and technology, especially in the areas where the representation of women is very low, who will be able to accommodate rapidly changing social needs and keep long-term creativity demanded by society with high flexibility on their academic base of physics, mathematics, and information technology.

Before launching new program, we will hold a Kickoff Symposium with the purpose of confirming the concept of our program and announcing it widely to the society. For this purpose keynote lectures by the executive people in industry, academia and government, introduction of programs in leading graduate schools, and presentation of PBTS themes by the students selected to the program.
