The role of a Doctor of Science, which is to conduct research and development related to natural and applied sciences, has been increasing in importance even more than before. Due to the need to cultivate advanced professionals, this program fosters researchers with the broad knowledge necessary to enter new fields beyond their own previously limited areas of expertise through education aimed at cultivating advanced applied skills by combining a wide range of specialized knowledge. The program fosters the ability to cooperate with researchers in a large number of different fields in order to find targets for research with the goal of contributing in boundary and interdisciplinary areas. In addition, it also supports research activities based on the outlook of a woman’s lifestyle that balances work and the family.
