Admission Policy

The principal aim of the Admissions Policy of the Division of Advanced Sciences and the Division of Life Sciences is to offer admission to students who have acquired basic academic ability and have a strong motivation for research. The Divisions aim to encourage students to conduct multidisciplinary research and to take the initiative in the field of sciences. They raise leaders for the next generation.

The Program for Leading Graduate Schools advances the admissions policy above. We require the fundamental disciplines of physics, mathematics, and computer science as basic abilities, which essentially enable people to respond to social changes. In this Program, students are required to commit to a project research team and work on team-directed assignments with other students from different fields, through which practices students will acquire the abilities of conducting multidisciplinary research and discovering new scientific ideas. The Program trains students to become global leaders, who keep on creating innovation and taking leadership roles in the next generation.
