Class List of Spring Semester 2018
“Essential Physics for Global LeadersⅡ” will begin on April 12. This is a class for students who are in “Minor Course of Science and Technology for Global Leaders”. But all master’s & doctoral students can take it if you have interest. The class will be conducted in English.
Theme & Objective
Essential Physics for Global Leaders II will present students with core concepts in physics, as well as an overview of advanced physics at the foundation of current and future technological applications in electronics, alternative energy, medicine, national security, and the environment. The physics behind the nanotechnology revolution, the connection between all disciplines, and their convergence on the nanometer scale will be emphasized. Surveying past and current literature, the physics of natural phenomena, new revolutionary materials, and advanced technologies will be explored. Students will be asked to prepare multimedia presentations on proposed solutions to important physical and technological problems facing business and government leaders in the global community. Students will critically evaluate each other’s work, and feedback from the instructor and their peers will help students learn how to more effectively communicate leading edge developments in physics in proper academic English.
Message to Students
This course will survey a variety of topics in established and leading-edge physics. The topics and the depth to which they are covered may change, according to the students’ background and expressed interest.
