The “Essential Engineering for Global Leaders II” course, newly started in the second semester of 2015, organized a competition around robot work by students. Three teams were formed to create robots that provide care for the elderly. Following each team’s presentation, the audience, including professors, nominated the best team. The winning team’s robot would help the elderly by bringing a glass of water to prevent heart stroke. During this summer with extreme heat, it was a big social issue that the elderly were more prone to strokes.
The winning team could perform their robot work perfectly and thus received the highest points.
